About

Welcome!

CwdWbODUQAAdrqY

I write romantic fantasy where magic is real and love is dangerous.

My books are full of monster girls, the boys who are obsessed with them anyway, and impossible choices that will make you suffer in the best way possible. But don’t worry! I believe in hard-won happy endings. If you love dual POV romance, emotional twists, and finales that feel earned and satisfying, you’re in the right place.

Two of my fantasy series are now available:

🗡 Minutes Before Sunset – a Midwest-inspired rural romantasy where the “dark side” are actually the good guys (and everyone has two faces—literally!)
Bad Bloods – a dark dystopian fantasy that’s part X-Men, part rebellion, all heart (& found family)

When I’m not writing, I work in Art Rights & Permissions at Penguin Random House Audio and bake cookies at midnight while binging K-dramas. I’m also a cat mom to two mischievous gremlins. I’m represented by Gallt & Zacker Literary agency.

  1. Hi there, just popping by to say hello, and to let you know that we have a new site – http://www.dagdapublishing.co.uk

If you want to receive future updates and poetry by new writers from us, please head to the new site, and click “Follow this blog” (You can do so by just liking a post in our blog (which is where the poetry is residing now), which then gives you the option to follow). We look forward to seeing you over there, and thank you for your support over the last year and a half. Here’s to the next chapter 🙂

  2. Thanks for stopping by my blog and giving it a follow – I much appreciate it! I’ve browsed through your blog and really enjoy how you put words together – I am now one of your followers!

  3. Hi! Thanks so much for following my blog. Your “about” page and your blog are wonderfully delightful. I am looking forward to reading more of your posts. (And your kitten is a cutie! :D)

  4. Tried to answer your Twitter email to say: Already subscribed. 🙂 But Twitter said you don’t follow me, even though when I clicked on your ID your profile said you did. Must be a glitch in the Twitterverse. :-/

  5. Many fun facts and yet I connect with the one about you driving a manual! 🙂 Outside the US, it’s still normal to drive manual over automatic. You’ve convinced me to follow. I’ll check in often to see what’s up. I love that how you love to write shows so much in your blog.

  6. Thanks for checking out my blog! I must say, I’ve never heard of someone publishing at 16. That’s pretty remarkable. BUT I’m okay knowing that I’m going to do it at 21 and most of the people I know think publishing at my current age is pretty awesome. So I just won’t tell them about you. Your blog is pretty awesome!

    1. I was very lucky, and I met a published author who sponsored me, but I’m really grateful I’ve been able to publish since then :] 21 is fantastic! Good for you, and good luck 😀

  7. I really like your blog and all of the great value that you have on here keep up the great job and thanks for providing the great content. I look forward to seeing more great blogs from you in the future and by the way your kitten Bogart is Awesome!!. Thanks a lot!!

I also wanted to let you know about this new blogging platform that will allow you to write blogs on the go via mobile phone. This new platform is unlike any other blogging platform ever made to date. Check it out here http://vur.me/s/Unleash and watch how amazing this thing is.

    Have a great week!

  8. A very impressive bio for such a young person. Your passion for writing and enthusiasm for life shine can be contagious. I’m certain to enjoy many visits here.

  9. It’s great finding fellow writers and reading blog posts about how you were published. I think I have always been a writer, and for as far back as my memory travels, I have always wanted to publish my written words, whether that was through a novel, a newspaper, or collection of poetry.

  10. Thank you so much for following my blog.I am truly honoured…you are such a busy person, published author!! so many novels too. I need to catch up on those; I used to read so much…last year 300+ books but then I got addicted to blogging and with my work, I am reading much less. I am however starting to look more into young adult reads. I find it fits nicely with my work counselling youths and university students. I find that so interesting that you made a trilogy out revisted dreams. It’s intersting, I had nightmares at a certain in my youth and when the issues went away, so did the dreams; my daughter went through the same thing with dreams. Amazing isnt’t it?

    1. Of course! I’m looking forward to more of your posts 😀 And, yes, dreams are very interesting. I often wonder where they come from and/or why they are the way they are. If you check out Minutes Before Sunset, I hope you like it!

  12. Thanks for swinging by my blog, Shannon. Drop in any time for a cocktail and some chitty chat…ice is always cold and the towels are always hot! Quite an impressive resume you’re packing there, amiga! Published teen authoress, poetess, student-ess and Social media wizardess to boot!?! Hella good! You and me got something in common; I am pursuing a masters in new media marketing. Pleased to return the follow. See ya around the digital water cooler! Cheers!

  13. Dear Shannon, I would never have found your Blog if you hadn’t decided to follow Learning from Dogs. Thank you so much. I’m bound to say that I’m blown away by what you have achieved. Fantastic. So you keep up the great work and I can’t wait to dip into your writings. If you ever fancy posting a guest post on LfD you would be most welcome. Happy New Year to you.

  14. Hi, Shannon! So happy that I stumbled upon your blog! Congrats on your accomplishments! I’m a December 2013 graduate with a B.A. in English from Mizzou, and think that it’s really neat that you attended KU (I am no Kansas hater, being born in Nebraska), and have a lot of writing projects of my own. I’m definitely inspired by what you’ve been doing. Thanks, and Happy New Year.

  16. Hi Shannon, thanks for stopping by and following my blog – I hope you’ll find something useful. I am not a writer but I love reading and always have, so will be interesting to follow you! Take care

  17. Hey Shannon thanks for the ‘follow’ .. I am totally overwhelmed (in a good way!) reading all about you! You are so talented at such a tender age 🙂 Congrats on all your success so far, long may it continue 😉

  18. Hi Shannon,
I’ve just had two of my short stories published in an anthology and wondered if you would review the book on your blog?
It’s called ‘The Milk of Female Kindness’ and includes short fiction, poetry, art, memoir and medical writing on the theme of honest motherhood. Some of the writers have recently given birth, others are grandmothers. Some, like me, are childless; my writing is inspired by memories of my own mother. Some of the pieces will make you smile, others are heartbreaking.

I’d be very happy to send you an e-book or hard copy, or some sample stories.
    Best wishes and thanks,
    Sandra @ http://www.sandradanby.com/

  19. Hey Shannon! Thank you for dropping by Chasing the Stars and for the follow. I’m following your blog as well. It is my pleasure to meet such a talented writer! Kudos and happy blogging!
