***CLARIFICATION 5/14/2018***
There has been some confusion, so I wanted to make sure everyone knew I am still working as an editor through my editing services. Please e-mail me! This is just a social media hiatus for myself, as an author. It is not a hiatus from work. I hope that helps!
***UPDATE 5/11/18***
Hey everyone!
I’m coming back to social media for the weekend with some fun updates:
- The LitUp Festival is tomorrow in Independence, Missouri! I’ll be signing books and talking about writing fiction and poetry, so stop on by!
- Boo Boo is doing really, really well! We find out if he is beating cancer in a few weeks. Important thing is that he is happy and comfortable. Thank you for the well wishes! I’ll keep everyone updated.
- I heard the first 30 minutes of the Minutes Before Sunset audiobook by Steve Campbell and Sarah Puckett, and IT’S AMAZING! I hope to have more news soon!
- The Bad Bloods: November Snow audiobook by Jonathan Jones is also on the way! Keep your eyes open.
- Thank you for understanding my break! I really need some space to get my head back in the game, so I truly appreciate your support. ❤ I’ve already made some fantastic progress I can’t wait to share.
P.S. If you need to reach me while I’m away, please e-mail me, as that is the best way to reach me right now. My DMs are kind of buried atm.
***ORIGINAL POST***
So today I was going to write a blog post about considering a social media hiatus when I realized I really, really need a break.
Between starting a new job, dealing with health issues, and having one of my precious cats going through cancer surgery, I’ve just been really overwhelmed as of late. I keep telling myself to tough it out and meet those deadlines—only to realize that those “deadlines” are ones I made up myself. I can change them if I need to. And I need to.
I’ve spent more time writing about writing than actually writing, and that’s a problem with me.
So I’m logging off for a while, folks. I need some time to unwind and get a clearer head so that I can enjoy writing again. How long will I be gone, I don’t know, but my goal is to stay away until I can get my writing back into gear.
I hope you understand.
*speaking in the Terminator’s voice*
I’ll be back!
Thank you,
~SAT
P.S. If you’re here to check out my editing services, I am still doing those (as that is my day job), so please don’t hesitate to email me!
Enjoy your well-deserved break,Shannon and as Arnold would also say—-Hasta la vista, baby!===lol
Pets in surgery is a very high-stress thing. Definitely smart not to overwhelm yourself.
It sounds like you have to lot going on. Take care of yourself, so you can take care of others.
Rest well and be kind to yourself. You will be back to your writing and posting before long, I’m sure, but no pressure, and thanks for all the encouagement 🙂
Take care!
Be kind and take care of yourself.
