Firstly, I’d like to apologize for my lack of posts–I’m in my last month of this semester, so I’m swamped with final tests and projects. Thank you for understanding!
Second–“A Beautiful Marsupial Afternoon: New (Soma)tics” by CA Conrad!
One of the perks of being here at the University of Kansas, is getting to meet wonderful and inspiring authors (and poets) such as CA Conrad. That’s right. CA Conrad came to my Poetry II class and sat down with us. During the session, we talked about writing, themes, theories, history, crystals, volcanoes, and just about anything you were willing to open your mind up to–WHICH is exactly what this collection of poetry and (soma)tic assignments encourages readers to do.
This collection is not for the closed-minded.
In this daring collection, you will find yourself reading challenges you never expected, words that tempt you to redefine your relationship and understanding of your own body–That being said, I really encourage readers to pick up this book and flip through it. Since there are many writing prompts within the somatic assignments, maybe you–as a reader and writer–go beyond your usual spectrum of reality, break out of that writer’s block, and build yourself into something more with the artistically thriving self.
